We're having a poop sale!
Have you ever wondered, "why does my vet want a poop sample?"
Unlike fleas and ticks, internal parasites live in your pet’s gastrointestinal track. Most are never seen, but they can cause weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy. Humans can become infected the same way a pet does – by having contact with stool or soil, containing eggs or larvae. Fecal testing allows your doctor to check for internal parasites like roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, giardia and coccidia.
Normal behaviors, such as eating directly off the ground or playing fetch, drinking from puddles, and grooming, predisposes dogs and cats to parasitic infections all year long. Therefore, combined with monthly flea and tick preventatives, routine fecal exams are the best way to identify and treat parasitic infections to keep your pet healthy and your family safe.
We will happily provide you with a container (a plastic bag works fine, too), and remember to wear gloves. Fresh is best, so drop off the specimen within 24 hours. We’ll call you with results the next day.
Now you have the scoop... bring on the poop!
For the month of October all Wellness Fecal Tests will be $38.00. (regularly $46.00)
